A man in his 50s who killed his upstairs neighbor after a conflict over noise between floors has been arrested by the police.

The Sacheon Police Station in Gyeongnam announced on the 29th that they have apprehended and are investigating Mr. A, a man in his 50s, who fatally stabbed a woman living upstairs with a weapon due to noise complaints between floors.

Mr. A is accused of stabbing and killing Ms. B, a woman in her 30s living upstairs, on the stairs of a villa in Sacheon-eup, Sacheon-si, Gyeongnam, at around 4:40 p.m. the previous day. They had been neighbors for about three months, and Mr. A was reportedly dissatisfied because Ms. B often slammed her front door loudly.

On the day of the incident, Mr. A happened to encounter Ms. B on the stairs and confronted her about the noise issue. After an argument, he went back to his home, took a weapon, and committed the crime. He fled the scene but was caught by the police at around 6:40 p.m. in Goseong-gun, Gyeongnam.

The police plan to apply for an arrest warrant after conducting a thorough investigation into the exact circumstances of the case with Mr. A.
