On the 27th (local time), at the Torrey Pines Golf Club South Course (par 72, 7,765 yards) in San Diego, California, USA, the PGA Tour Farmers Insurance Open (total prize money $9 million) concluded. Matthieu Pavon won by a one-stroke margin. The winner's prize money was $1.62 million (approximately 2.16 billion KRW). He made history as the first French player to become a champion on the PGA Tour.

Pavon is a rookie who debuted on the PGA Tour this year. He won once last October at the DP World Tour event held in Spain. He earned his PGA Tour card this year by ranking high in last season's DP World Tour. Pavon's putting was outstanding at the Farmers Insurance Open. His strokes gained putting ranked 5th (5.966 strokes). On the final day of the tournament, he sank a 2.5-meter birdie putt on the last 18th hole (par 5) to secure the victory. The putter that led Pavon to victory was the Ping Cadence TR Tomcat C, released in 2015. It is a product known for excellent directionality and distance control.

Pavon uses the full Ping lineup. His driver is a 9-degree Ping G430 Max. His fairway wood and hybrid are Ping G430 models. He uses Ping i230 irons and Ping Si59 wedges. His ball is the Titleist Pro V1.
