On the 25th, Shinhan Financial announced on the 29th that Chairman Jin Ok-dong and about 20 executives and employees, including CEOs of group companies, participated in a volunteer activity called 'Sharing Love Briquettes' at Gaemi Village in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul.

The Leading by Example Relay campaign is a social contribution project that started in December last year, where employees directly participate in the entire process of the project, from proposing ideas related to social contribution, fundraising, to volunteer activities.

For the first project, briquette sharing, Shinhan Financial raised a total of 200 million KRW by combining 150 million KRW collected by employees and the company's donation. On the day of the volunteer activity, Chairman Jin and others visited energy-vulnerable households in Gaemi Village, who are going through a difficult time due to the sudden cold wave, and delivered a total of 1,000 briquettes along with winter supplies.

In addition, Shinhan Financial plans to provide heating cost support and deliver about 35,000 briquettes and heating supplies to approximately 400 energy-vulnerable households suffering from the cold wave through Good Neighbors.

Meanwhile, Shinhan Financial devoted significant efforts to social contribution last year. From April last year for six months, through the 'Save Campaign,' it supported 2 billion KRW, combining energy-saving costs and donations, to reduce the energy cost burden of small business owners and self-employed individuals. In July, it helped with recovery efforts in Chungju, Chungbuk, which was damaged by heavy rain, and at the end of the year, it conducted delivery volunteer work and provided daily necessities for residents of jjokbangchon (small room villages).

Affiliates are also actively participating. In May last year, Shinhan Bank conducted volunteer activities in Goseong, Gangwon-do, which was damaged by wildfires, by sowing seeds together with companion dogs for natural restoration. Shinhan Card, in September last year, produced and delivered stationery kits for long-term hospitalized children and actively engaged in neighborly warmth through programs such as the 'Love Account Fundraising,' an employee salary-sharing program, supporting the opening of the Areumin Library and children with rare and incurable diseases.

Chairman Jin said, "I felt very proud and fulfilled to participate in the active volunteer activities of employees for elderly living alone and low-income families," and added, "Shinhan Financial employees will continue to pay more careful attention and strive to find various ways to practice warm sharing with neighbors in need around us."
