LG Uplus announced on the 29th that its Pyeongchon Mega Center Internet Data Center (IDC) received a commendation from the Minister of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety in recognition of its excellence in disaster mitigation.

The Disaster Mitigation Excellence Award is given to outstanding companies after the Ministry of the Interior and Safety evaluates the Business Continuity Management System (BCMS), which ensures that business activities are not interrupted during disasters, and conducts an actual inspection.


LG Uplus’s Pyeongchon Mega Center received high marks from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety for its crisis management system against social and natural disasters, as well as for its dedicated disaster management organization, training, budget, and cooperation systems.


In December of last year, LG Uplus also obtained the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s “Disaster Mitigation Excellence Certification” under the Act on Support for Voluntary Activities of Companies for Disaster Mitigation. Beyond the IDC, the company plans to strengthen systems at regional telecommunications offices to respond stably to disasters and emergencies and aims to receive disaster mitigation certification from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
