Sejong Telecom Wins Contract for New Signal Equipment Construction on Janghang Line Double-Track Railway for Korea Rail Network Authority

Sejong Telecom (CEO Lee Byung-guk) announced on the 29th that it has won the contract for the "Janghang Line Double-Track Electrification Signal Equipment Installation Project" commissioned by the Korea Rail Network Authority.

This project covers approximately 41 km, connecting Boryeong City in Chungcheongnam-do, Seocheon County, and Gunsan City in Jeollabuk-do. It aims to establish a high-speed trunk railway network linking the electrified Janghang Line with the Seohae Line, Janghang Line, and Jeolla Line to promote balanced regional development and increase track capacity, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of rail transportation. The final winning bid amount is 45,081,870,000 KRW, accounting for 70% of the total, with completion targeted for 2026.

Sejong Telecom is responsible for the installation and removal of electrical and mechanical signal equipment for the Janghang Line double-track electrification, including ▲shunting signals ▲distant signals ▲route indicators ▲electric line switchers ▲jumpers ▲connecting rods, among others.

Additionally, this year, Sejong Telecom also secured the contract for the "Gwangmyeong-Siheung General Industrial Complex Obstructing Transmission Line Relocation Project." Sejong Telecom was selected as the main contractor for this project, which accounts for 60% of the total contract amount of 9,096,900,000 KRW. This project is also scheduled for completion in 2026 and involves ▲underground power duct construction ▲power tunnel construction ▲overhead transmission line work.

Lee Sang-cheol, Head of the Electrical Business Division at Sejong Telecom, stated, “Sejong Telecom has proven its capabilities based on diverse railway electrical construction technologies, experience, and abundant technical personnel. We will promote various activities to demonstrate Sejong Telecom’s excellent capabilities in electrical construction not only domestically but also in overseas markets.”

Meanwhile, last year, Sejong Telecom was recognized for its contribution to the railway industry and received a commendation for the "Gwacheon Line Indeokwon to Seonbawi Overhead Line Improvement Project," a site contracted from the Korea Rail Network Authority, which was selected as an excellent site.
