The winter program "Peace Light Festival," held at Gyeonggi Peace Square in the northern Gyeonggi Provincial Government Complex, concluded grandly on the 28th.
The Peace Light Festival, which ran daily from 6 PM to 10 PM for 60 days starting December 1 last year, attracted great interest even before its opening. Many residents visited, making it a popular winter light festival destination in northern Gyeonggi.
Centered around a magnificent 7-meter-high espalier sculpture located at the main entrance of Gyeonggi Peace Square, various colorful and dazzling light decorations provided diverse attractions, beautifully illuminating the square at night to welcome visitors.
Especially popular was the newly introduced "Holographic Media Art" in the tree forest on the left side of the square this year, which displayed various holograms in response to visitors' movements.
Along with the light sculptures of the Peace Light Festival, the "Exciting Winter Snow Playground," which opened on December 23 last year, closed on the 21st. Over 33 days, a total of 6,152 people visited, averaging about 240 visitors per day and around 500 on weekends, establishing itself as a winter sports facility and play space where families and friends could enjoy the winter season together.
Byun Sang-gi, Administrative Management Officer of Gyeonggi Province, expressed, "We thank the residents for their great interest and love. Based on surveys conducted during the operation period, we will listen carefully to various opinions and respond with programs that will satisfy our residents even more."
