Dongsangmyeon Village Culture Festival... "Cold, Step Back"
The Bamtimaeul Community Sledding Promotion Committee (Chairman Park Young-hwan) in Dongsang-myeon, Wanju-gun, Jeonbuk, held the 'Dongjanggun Nondureong Cultural Festival' at the Nondureong Sledding Ground in Bamtimaeul on the 27th, featuring a variety of events.
The event was organized by the residents of Bamtimaeul, Dongsang-myeon, a pristine area that embraces the spring where the Mankyeong River originates, to recreate village culture through traditional cultural experiences popular in the 1960s to 1980s, and to promote local specialties such as Dongsang dried persimmons and Dongsang gorosoe water.

The festival, hosted by MC Jinseong, included Nondureong sled races, Nondureong basin curling competitions, character performances, and experience booths (mask and lip balm making) designed for family visitors. The festival's excitement peaked with congratulatory performances by the Bibong Nongak Troupe and invited singer Kim Tae-rim.
Yoo Hee-tae, the mayor of Wanju-gun, said, "I was amazed at the level of the event led by the village residents," adding, "Wanju-gun will spare no support in creating an environment where residents can be happy, grow together, and become self-reliant through the revitalization of village-level community projects."
Meanwhile, the Bamtimaeul community in Dongsang-myeon, Wanju-gun, has been active as a representative cultural experience village of Wanju-gun since 2020 through the Wanju Cultural City Support Center project, discovering hidden resources, offering cultural experiences, and operating healing programs.
