He expressed gratitude to the public who were concerned about him, saying, "At the time of the incident, I even felt the fear of 'I might die,' but now, thanks to the help and care of many people, I am receiving good treatment and recovering." He added, "I will do my best with even more determination to keep my promise to protect the citizens and my Songpa residents safely after a full recovery."
Bae also thanked the citizens who reported the scene, the fire and police officials, Soonchunhyang University medical staff, and the press. He stated, "I trust the investigative authorities and will observe the investigation," and added, "I believe that after a thorough investigation, strict legal action will be taken according to the results."
On the afternoon of the 25th, around 5:20 PM, Bae was attacked on the back of her head by a middle school student, A, at the entrance of a building in Sinsa-dong, Gangnam-gu, and collapsed bleeding. She was immediately transported to the hospital, where her scalp was sutured about 1 cm, and she received inpatient treatment for three days. A was immediately arrested at the scene. The police, after questioning A in the presence of a guardian and considering his minor status and current health condition, arranged for A's emergency hospitalization.
