Gokseong-gun Continues Donations of 'Neighborly Love Fund'

Donation for Neighbors in Need and Local Children

Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that donations for neighbors in need and contributions to the Future Education Foundation have been continuing since the beginning of the year.


On the 24th, NongHyup Bank Gokseong Branch (Branch Manager An Jong-pal) donated 10 million won to practice neighborly love.

Last December, they also donated 20 million won to support local families in need, setting an example in the community by practicing the value of sharing and coexisting with the local society.


Ganai Engineering Co., Ltd. (CEO Jeong Gwang-rae) donated 3 million won.


Ganai Engineering Co., Ltd., located in Naju City, Jeollanam-do, operates various businesses such as electrical construction and solar power generation. The CEO and the head office have a special connection with Gokseong and have continued their acts of love and sharing.


Gokseong Taro Agricultural Cooperative Corporation (CEO Gi Nok-do) also delivered 500 sets of taro soup meal kits worth 4 million won.


Located in Jukgok-myeon, Gokseong Taro Agricultural Cooperative Corporation produces and develops various products such as fresh taro, vacuum-packed peeled taro, taro bread, and Tomi chips, leading the promotion and marketing of ‘Gokseong Taro.’ They expressed their intention to continue love-sharing activities for neighbors in need.


Five individuals living in Gokseong?Choi Seong-deok, CEO of Kkalkkeum Cleaning; Kim Wan-sul, head of Gokseong Danwi Nonghyup; Lee Sang-wan, CEO of Harim Mexican Chicken; Lee Yeol from Gokseong Police Station; and Ryu Jae-ui from Singi-ri, Gokseong-eup?donated 10 million won.


The five friends, who have lived in Gokseong and maintained close relationships, have been pooling 10,000 won each per month for over 10 years and decided to donate the money after careful consideration on how to use it meaningfully.


Of the donation, 5 million won will be used to support low-income households in Gokseong, and the remaining 5 million won will be used as scholarships by the Future Education Foundation.


Lee Ho-young, CEO of Gokseong Safety Glass Co., Ltd., donated 5 million won to the Gokseong Future Education Foundation (Chairman Lee Sang-cheol), expressing his desire to fulfill his responsibility as a business owner in Gokseong to provide more educational opportunities for children in the local community.


Gokseong Safety Glass Co., Ltd., located in Samgi-myeon, Gokseong-gun, is a safety glass manufacturer that has earned high trust from local residents by practicing volunteer work for community development.


A county official said, “Due to the sudden cold wave, our neighbors in need are facing a lonelier start to the year than anyone else. We sincerely thank the donors who share love and look around during these difficult times, and we will ensure that the donations are properly delivered to the marginalized and struggling neighbors in the community.”


A foundation official said, “At the end and beginning of the year, many people have shown great interest in ‘Gokseong education’ and supported local children, the future protagonists, to have access to various educational opportunities. We will use the donations carefully so that children in the region can experience and learn through diverse educational programs.”
