Ministry of Justice Conducts Regular Personnel Changes for 449 Prosecutors... Transfers Due to Resignations and Others

The Ministry of Justice implemented personnel transfers for 34 prosecutors at the senior prosecutor level and 415 general prosecutors. These transfers include senior prosecutor-level personnel changes due to resignations and replacements of prosecutors dispatched to external agencies, as well as regular transfers of general prosecutors.

Kim Ji-wan, the Human Rights Protection Officer at the Busan District Prosecutors' Office, was appointed as the head of the Masan branch of the Changwon District Prosecutors' Office, which became vacant following the transfer of Park Dae-beom, a prosecutor at the Gwangju High Prosecutors' Office, who was suspected of inappropriate contact with politicians related to the general election.

Lee Gyu-won, Deputy Chief Prosecutor at the Chuncheon District Prosecutors' Office, who is currently on trial for allegedly preparing a false report regarding the ‘villa sexual entertainment’ allegations against former Deputy Minister of Justice Kim Hak-ui and for illegally prohibiting Kim’s departure from the country, was transferred to Deputy Chief Prosecutor at the Daegu District Prosecutors' Office.

The Ministry of Justice stated, "This personnel transfer was conducted within the minimum necessary scope to stabilize the organization, about four months after a large-scale transfer of senior prosecutors in September last year," and added, "The general prosecutor transfers were carried out with maximum respect for the personnel opinions of the Supreme Prosecutors' Office and heads of various agencies, and actively reflected the prosecutors' personnel preferences."
