Pre-orders Up 25% Compared to Galaxy S23
Limited Edition Sold Out... 1,000 Units Sold
On the 26th, LG Uplus began sequential activation for customers who pre-ordered Samsung Electronics' 'Galaxy S24 Series.' Additionally, the official subsidy, which provides an instant discount on device prices, was set at a maximum of 230,000 KRW.
Analyzing the Galaxy S24 pre-order data from the past week, LG Uplus found a 25% increase compared to the previous Galaxy S23 Series. The most popular model was the Galaxy S24 Ultra, accounting for about 60% of all pre-orders.
Regarding colors, for each model, the Galaxy S24 Ultra saw high demand for Titanium Black (33%) and Titanium Gray (33%), the Galaxy S24 Plus for Marble Gray (29%) and Onyx Black (27%), and the standard Galaxy S24 for Amber Yellow (30%) and Marble Gray (28%).
The 'Daengdaengi Edition with Podong,' exclusively released by LG Uplus, also sold out all 1,000 units. The Daengdaengi Edition is a limited edition based on the Galaxy S24 Ultra 512GB model, available exclusively on Uplus.com. Customers who purchased it received dog-walking related items worth approximately 500,000 KRW, including the Samsung SmartTag2.
General customers who did not apply for pre-orders can purchase the device at online and offline stores starting from the 31st. The official subsidy discount on device prices ranges from 52,000 KRW to a maximum of 230,000 KRW, depending on the plan.
LG Uplus has also prepared various benefits and promotions for general customers who did not subscribe to pre-orders.
First, customers subscribing to the 5G Premier Super plan (115,000 KRW per month) or higher can use one second device, such as the Galaxy Watch6 or Buds2 Pro, for free through the 'Device Pack.' After subscribing to the plan and selecting a device, customers receive a full discount on installment payments for 24 months.
After activating the Galaxy S24 Series, customers who trade in their used Galaxy phones will receive up to an additional 150,000 KRW on top of the used phone market price through the 'Galaxy S24 Trade-in Program.' Eligible models include the Galaxy S21, S22, S23 Series, Galaxy Z Fold, Flip 3, 4, 5, and Galaxy Note20 Series. Used phones can be returned via the nationwide kiosks 'Mintit' or the used phone purchase platform 'Cello.' Compensation is available for one transaction per activated number until the 29th of next month.
Reflecting the recent trend of rising subscription fees for online video services (OTT), an event is being held where customers can use Tving Basic for free for six months. Customers using any Galaxy smartphone and subscribing to a 5G or LTE plan costing 75,000 KRW or more per month are eligible to participate.
