Seongsuyong, Chairman of 'Busan Job Creation Cooperative', Announces Candidacy for Busan Seo and Dong Districts

"Revitalizing the Economy of Residents in Super-Aged Cities"

Seong Su-yong, chairman of the Busan Job Creation Social Cooperative, announced his candidacy as a preliminary candidate for the People Power Party in the Busan Seo·Dong-gu electoral district for the 22nd general election.

On the 26th at 11 a.m., Chairman Seong held a press conference at the Busan City Council briefing room and declared his intention to run for the 22nd National Assembly election in the Busan Seo·Dong-gu district.

Candidate Seong graduated from Busan Middle and High School and Yonsei University, and completed a doctoral course at Busan National University Graduate School of International Studies. He currently serves as chairman of the Busan Job Creation Social Cooperative, an advisory member of the Busan 15-Minute City Committee, and a member of the Busan Shared Economy Promotion Committee.

Candidate Seong has also served as a non-standing director at the Busan Urban Regeneration Support Center and Busan Welfare Development Institute, director of the Changnyeong-gun Urban Regeneration Support Center, and program specialist at Citigroup.

With the catchphrase “Resident Economy Created by a Global Economic Expert,” Candidate Seong aims to create jobs and revive commercial districts in the Dong-gu area by linking it with the regional advantage of the North Port redevelopment.

He pledged to transform Busan’s landmark area into a new leap forward and to revitalize Seo-gu by developing zones focused on fisheries, medical care, and tourism, turning it into a place where money circulates and people gather.

Candidate Seong also stated that he would transform Seo-gu into the central area of a Busan-style 15-minute city through the redevelopment project of Gudeok Stadium, creating a model of residential convenience for residents.

Furthermore, he promised to develop the Songdo Beach area into a core region of a marine tourism belt that satisfies all five senses, aiming to make it a global marine tourist destination comparable to Haeundae.

In his declaration of candidacy, Candidate Seong said, “Based on my experience as a global economic expert, including as a Citigroup specialist, I will focus on the economy,” and added, “I will make the Seo·Dong-gu area, which is aging at the fastest rate in Busan, a happy place where residents can enjoy life-cycle welfare services.”
