"Negative Factors Largely Reflected, Positive Factors Not Reflected"

The KOSPI index slightly rebounded just before the close on the 25th and ended the trading session. On that day, the KOSPI index closed at 2470.34, up 0.65 points (0.03%) from the previous session. The KOSPI started at 2467.73, down 1.96 points (0.08%), but pulled the index up toward the end. Foreign investors and institutions bought stocks worth 44.5 billion KRW and 191.3 billion KRW, respectively. Individual investors sold stocks worth 250.8 billion KRW.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, Kia (5.80%), Hyundai Mobis (2.44%), Hyundai Motor (2.00%), Samsung C&T (1.96%), and KB Financial (1.54%) rose. On the other hand, POSCO Future M (-3.83%), LG Energy Solution (-3.29%), SK Hynix (-2.90%), and NAVER (-2.06%) declined.
By sector, electric and gas utilities (3.36%), transportation equipment (2.59%), securities (1.51%), insurance (1.46%), and construction (1.30%) increased. Conversely, medical precision (-2.29%), electrical and electronics (-1.04%), services (-0.66%), machinery (-0.54%), and paper and wood (-0.21%) sectors fell.
The KOSDAQ index closed at 823.74, down 12.47 points (-1.49%) from the previous trading day. The index started at 833.34, down 2.87 points (0.34%), and failed to reduce the decline. Foreign investors and institutions net sold stocks worth 68.2 billion KRW and 106.2 billion KRW, respectively. Individual investors bought stocks worth 205.6 billion KRW.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, HLB (10.51%), Alteogen (1.52%), Pearl Abyss (0.90%), and Soulbrain (0.83%) rose. Meanwhile, L&F (-11.02%), LS Materials (-8.31%), Shinseong Delta Tech (-7.33%), EcoPro BM (-5.02%), Lunit (-4.69%), and EcoPro (-3.06%) declined.
Research analysts Joon-ki Cho and Jae-hyun Kang of SK Securities said, "The KOSPI on this day largely reflected the negative impact from Tesla-related secondary battery issues. However, the strong earnings of semiconductor stocks in the U.S. and Korea were not reflected, resulting in a slightly firm close. The KOSDAQ, which has a high proportion of secondary battery stocks, fell by over 1%."
In the Seoul foreign exchange market on the same day, the won-dollar exchange rate closed at 1335.8 won, down 1.2 won from the previous trading day.
