Jin District Mayor: "We Will Do Our Best to Support Employment, Social Activities, and Housing"
Jin Gyo-hoon, Mayor of Gangseo District, attended the ‘Seoul Parents of Disabled Persons Gangseo Branch Regular General Meeting’ held at Yewon Church in Deungchon-dong on the 24th and stated that he will do his best to improve the welfare of disabled people.
Mayor Jin said, “I hang a portrait painted by disabled artist Han Hwa-seok in my office and keep the realization of welfare for socially vulnerable groups in my heart every day,” adding, “We will make multifaceted efforts to promote the independence and welfare of disabled people, including employment support, expanding opportunities for social participation, alleviating family caregiving burdens, and housing support.”
About 100 people, including Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon, Jang Mi-ra, President of the Seoul Parents of Disabled Persons Gangseo Branch, and members, attended the general meeting.
The 12th regular general meeting proceeded in the order of ▲ presentation of 2023 business achievements and settlement report ▲ election of executives ▲ introduction of Gangseo First Job, which supports employment for people with developmental disabilities.
Meanwhile, the district is promoting various policies to enhance the rights and interests of disabled people, such as visiting rehabilitation assistive device sharing and donation services, free shuttle bus operation for disabled and elderly people, free laundry service support for low-income severely disabled persons, and disability awareness improvement education visiting schools.
