GS Construction's 10th Data Center
Total Capacity of 40MW, Accommodating Over 100,000 Servers
Business Expansion to Data Center Investment, Development, and Operation
GS Engineering & Construction has completed the 'Epoch Anyang Center,' a data center in which it participated as the first construction company to be involved in its development.
Heo Yunhong, CEO of GS Construction, is delivering a commemorative speech at the completion ceremony of 'Epoch Anyang Center' held on the 24th in Hogye-dong, Anyang.
On the 24th, GS Engineering & Construction held a completion ceremony for the 'Epoch Anyang Center' in Hogye-dong, Dongan-gu, Anyang City. The ceremony was attended by more than 80 stakeholders responsible for investment, supervision, design, construction, and operation from Epoch PFV, the project consortium, including CEO Heo Yunhong.
The Epoch Anyang Center is a hyperscale data center with a total capacity of 40MW, spanning from three basement levels to nine above ground floors, capable of housing over 100,000 servers. It receives power from two substations located 3 km away. If one substation encounters a problem, power can be supplied from the other. Generally, a hyperscale data center refers to a facility with a total floor area of about 22,500㎡ and equipped with at least 100,000 servers.

The Epoch Anyang Center embodies GS Engineering & Construction’s expertise in data center construction technology. Having accumulated data center construction experience over the past decade, GS Engineering & Construction has established a stable IT service supply system. Data centers maintain optimal operating environments for server equipment by using precision air conditioning and various IT facilities. GS Engineering & Construction completed the project without any safety incidents by leveraging its extensive data center construction know-how and construction technology.
Including the Epoch Anyang Center, GS Engineering & Construction has built a total of 10 data centers, such as Naver data centers in Chuncheon and Hana Financial Group IDC. The total floor area amounts to approximately 400,000㎡, securing the largest number of data center completions among construction companies.
GS Engineering & Construction has grown by adopting the entire value chain from data center investment, leasing, to operation as a new business model. Data centers are facilities that integrate and manage multiple information and communication infrastructures within a designated space, classified as core infrastructure for data storage, security facilities, and big data storage and distribution to stably manage large-scale computer servers.

The Epoch Anyang Center is particularly meaningful as GS Engineering & Construction expanded its business to include development and operation. To enter the data center market as a developer for the first time among domestic construction companies, it established DC Bridge as a subsidiary in May 2021 to handle data center sales and operation services. DC Bridge participates partially in the operation of the Epoch Anyang Center. The subsidiary Gbesco Asset Management, established in 2021, handled project planning, investment management, and business administration for this project.
Heo Yunhong, CEO of GS Engineering & Construction, said, "With the advent of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the domestic data center market is expected to grow rapidly. GS Engineering & Construction will continue to strive to meet the AI and data era by securing expertise across the entire data center value chain."
