Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Corporation (GH) held a workshop on smart cities in Kathmandu, Nepal, on the 23rd (local time) and discussed project promotion plans with local urban development agencies.

The workshop was attended by high-ranking government officials including the Deputy Minister of Nepal's Ministry of Finance, representatives from the Alternative Energy Promotion Centre (AEPC) which proposed the smart city project, Lalitpur City Hall, and the Town Development Fund, among others.

The Nepalese agencies present expressed their hopes for pilot projects of smart solutions to improve energy efficiency in public buildings, feasibility studies for improving residential environments and responding to urban expansion, as well as the transfer of urban planning expertise.

GH identified the demand for smart city projects and set as discussion topics development consulting support such as preliminary feasibility studies for the local application of related technologies.

Starting with this workshop, GH plans to discuss suitable development cooperation measures while also seeking opportunities for domestic public institutions and companies to expand overseas.

Kim Se-yong, President of GH, emphasized, "While participating in international efforts to respond to climate change such as carbon neutrality, we will continuously discover future opportunities for joint public-private overseas expansion through active exchange and cooperation with overseas public and private institutions."
