Gyeonggi Office of Education Creates Safety Management Manual for Educational Facilities The educational facility safety management manual recently produced by the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education

The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education has created an 'Educational Facility Safety Management Manual' for school administrators and staff.

On the 23rd, the Office announced that it produced and distributed the Educational Facility Safety Management Manual to establish and manage a safe educational environment in school facilities.

The newly distributed manual was developed based on the newly established systems and standards according to the Act on Safety and Maintenance of Educational Facilities enacted in 2020 and the Safety and Maintenance Standards for Educational Facilities (Ministry of Education) announced in 2022.

In particular, the manual focuses on helping school administrators and staff easily understand the key tasks and obligations for educational facility safety management, safety standards, and conveniently refer to them when carrying out their duties.

The main contents include ▲ key safety management tasks and inspection items ▲ new safety management systems such as educational facility safety certification and safety evaluation ▲ types, timing, and follow-up actions of safety inspections ▲ safety standards and management by facility ▲ accident prevention management cases and emergency responses by situation.

Additionally, it includes reference materials linking other guides and manuals created for educational facility safety management.

Baeyounghwan, head of the School Safety Division at the Office of Education, said, "We hope this manual will help resolve difficulties in facility safety management at school sites and assist in carrying out related tasks," adding, "We will continue to make efforts to prevent safety accidents in educational facilities, including improving aging facilities for safety management."
