Gangbuk-gu Holds 'Visiting Resident Briefing Session' Before Opening Gangbuk Sports Complex

Gangbuk-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Soon-hee) will hold three "Visiting Resident Briefings" starting on the 23rd at Samyang-dong Community Center to share information about the operation of the Gangbuk Comprehensive Sports Center before its opening and to gather residents' opinions.


The Gangbuk Comprehensive Sports Center, built at 14 Solsaem-ro 48-gil, has a total floor area of 2,645㎡ (2 basement floors to 2 above-ground floors). The second basement floor houses a swimming pool, the first basement floor includes offices, a lobby, and a cafe, the first floor above ground contains a gym and program rooms such as equipment Pilates, and the second floor above ground features locker rooms and a rooftop garden. It is scheduled to open in the first half of 2024.


Before the opening of the Gangbuk Comprehensive Sports Center, the district will hold resident briefings to explain facility-specific guidance, operational plans, and pilot operation experience groups to the residents.


The resident briefings, organized by Sports Island, which has been entrusted with operating the Gangbuk Comprehensive Sports Center, will be held at ▲ 5:00 PM on the 23rd at the 4th floor Lecture Room 3 of Samyang-dong Community Center ▲ 4:20 PM on the 25th at the 2nd floor meeting room of Songcheon-dong Community Center ▲ 11:30 AM on the 30th at the 2nd floor cultural lecture room of Samgaksan-dong Community Center. Residents who wish to participate can attend freely without prior registration.


Lee Soon-hee, Mayor of Gangbuk-gu, said, "I hope many residents will participate in the visiting resident briefings regarding the operation of the Gangbuk Comprehensive Sports Center," and added, "Through these briefings, we will collect diverse opinions from residents about public sports facilities and create a Gangbuk-gu where all residents can enjoy exercising easily and happily."
