On that day, former President Moon, along with his wife Kim Jung-sook, watched the film as a group with about 200 members of the Democratic Party from the Yangsan Gap and Eul districts for about two hours.

After watching the film, former President Moon stood in front of the screen with the candidates from the Yangsan Gap and Eul districts who will run in the upcoming general election and said, "I personally proposed that we watch the film 'Gil Wi-e Kim Dae-jung' together with local party members today," adding, "The film was very moving."

He continued, "The image of former President Kim Dae-jung that remains most deeply in my heart is the scene where he wept in front of Mrs. Kwon Yang-sook at the funeral of former President Roh Moo-hyun. In today's film, it was exactly the same as when he wept in front of the May 18th Cemetery."

He added, "If former President Kim Dae-jung were alive, he would probably lament the current three major crises of democracy, the people's economy, and inter-Korean relations, and earnestly urge us to become a conscience in action."

He also emphasized, "With the election that will determine the future approaching, I ask everyone to become a conscience in action and an awakened citizen to help restore the precarious Republic of Korea," and stressed, "I look forward to good news in this election."
