Geochang Police Station Intensifies Day and Night Drunk Driving Crackdown During Year-End and New Year Period

On the 23rd, the Geochang Police Station in Gyeongnam announced that it is conducting special day and night crackdowns on drunk driving in response to ongoing drunk driving enforcement and consecutive 112 reports suspected of drunk driving.

During this winter special drunk driving crackdown period, 19 cases were caught in November last year, 8 cases in December, and 5 cases as of the 21st.

Geochang Police Station is conducting nighttime drunk driving enforcement activities.

Additionally, the number of drunk driving enforcement cases decreased during the special drunk driving crackdown period.

Meanwhile, the Geochang Police Station plans to expand enforcement locations, including areas with frequent drunk driving reports, and mobilize all available personnel such as traffic and local police day and night, as drunk driving violations and accidents continue to occur.

Im Young-in, chief of the Geochang Police Station, said, “The decrease in drunk driving enforcement cases during the winter special crackdown period is due to the participation of residents in eradicating drunk driving, and we hope everyone continues to join in achieving zero drunk driving.”
