On the 22nd, remarriage information company OnlyU announced the results of a survey conducted in collaboration with marriage information company Bienarae. The survey targeted 518 dolsing men and women nationwide who hope for late-life or remarriage (259 men and 259 women each), using email and phone interviews.


When asked "In what situations do you decide to remarry," men responded in order: △relying on restaurants for three meals a day (28.2%), △doing all the housework alone (23.5%), △raising children of the opposite sex (19.3%), △when restaurants do not allow ordering a single serving (14.7%). Women answered in order: △major events such as moving (32.4%), △worrying about elderly parents being lonely (23.6%), △doing all the housework alone (18.5%), △raising children of the opposite sex (12.4%).


Regarding "why remarriage is not as easy as expected," men cited △unrealistic views on remarriage (33.2%), △lack of willingness to remarry (27.4%), △excessive narcissism (17.3%), △lack of understanding of men (15.1%). Women cited △lack of empathy (35.1%), △lack of understanding of women (26.3%), △lack of willingness to remarry (18.1%), △unrealistic views on remarriage (14.3%).


When asked about "moments when you think of your ex-spouse," men frequently mentioned △seeing them coordinate a scarf (30.1%), △tying the hanbok ribbons during holidays (24.8%). Women frequently mentioned △placing luggage on the shelf during trips (28.3%), △sorting recyclables (24.2%).


Son Dong-gyu, CEO of OnlyU, advised, "If the differences between men and women function positively, synergy effects occur, but if they cause dysfunction, they can lead to disaster. Considering these points is necessary when entering marriage or remarriage."
