Korea Information Certificate Authority is showing strong performance. It is interpreted to be influenced by the news that other payment services such as Samsung Pay can be used on Apple's iPhone in Europe.
As of 10:11 AM on the 22nd, Korea Information Certificate Authority is trading at 5,370 KRW, up 4.07% compared to the previous day.
On the 19th (local time), the EU Commission announced, "Apple has decided to allow third-party mobile payment services on iOS devices such as the iPhone to address competition concerns." From now on, iPhone users will be able to install and use other near-field communication (NFC) contactless payment service apps instead of Apple Pay if they wish.
The Commission had previously demanded corrective measures in 2022, stating that Apple was unfairly restricting competitors' access to this technology. The Commission stated, "This proposal will be valid for the next 10 years, and compliance will be regularly monitored." If Apple fails to properly implement this, it will face fines amounting to 10% of its global revenue from the EU.
Meanwhile, Korea Information Certificate Authority is the first certification authority in Korea, engaged in issuing certificates, developing and selling PKI solutions, selling SSL (web security servers), and providing biometric authentication services. It is known that when users attempt fingerprint authentication during payment on Samsung Electronics' simple payment service 'Samsung Pay,' the identity verification service is used, and Korea Information Certificate Authority receives fees for this service.
