Gyeonggawon, First Provincial Public Institution to Fully Implement 'Paperless Administration'

Gyeonggawon, First Provincial Public Institution to Fully Implement 'Paperless Administration' Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency is conducting paperless administrative meetings.

The Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency will fully implement a 'paperless administration' for the first time among public institutions in the province, in line with the core climate policy of the 8th local government, 'Gyeonggi RE100.'

Following the inauguration of Director Kang Seong-cheon, the agency prioritized strengthening institutional capabilities and efficient work innovation to realize 'digital administration' and become a 'leading model institution for RE100.'

In particular, after a pilot operation of administrative processes last year to enable electronic verification and completion of accounting, the paperless administration was launched in January this year.

The agency expects that the introduction of paperless administration will save 200 million KRW annually and reduce the use of 800,000 sheets of A4 paper, resulting in approximately 2.3 tons of carbon emission reduction.

Additionally, it anticipates that the processing time for administrative tasks will be cut by more than 50%, from an average of 6 days per case to 3 days, and the time required to respond to external data submission requests will be reduced to one-tenth of the previous duration.

Furthermore, to achieve 'Gyeonggi RE100' and 'carbon neutrality,' the agency will also promote ▲ cloud migration of information systems ▲ operation of digital signage ▲ elimination of disposable products.

In September last year, the agency was selected as the first provincial public institution to participate in the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's 'Cloud Utilization Model Project,' establishing an environment where work can be processed via mobile devices regardless of time and place. Since December last year, key meetings such as executive meetings and work reports have been conducted using tablet PCs.

Director Kang Seong-cheon of the agency stated, "We will continue to lead the establishment of digital GBSA by digitalizing the work environment to expand the use of renewable energy and save energy," and emphasized, "We will make 2024 the inaugural year of Gyeonggi RE100 achievements and realize practical carbon neutrality."
