Operation of 'Visiting Housing Welfare Counseling Center'
Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 22nd that it will establish and implement a comprehensive plan for the welfare of housing-vulnerable groups.
To this end, the city has set four tasks: ▲building a housing welfare network ▲promoting housing stability for vulnerable households ▲alleviating housing cost burdens ▲improving the housing environment, and will invest 900 million KRW in the project.
First, through the 'Yongin City Housing Welfare Center' opened in 2022, the city plans to provide welfare services tailored to the needs of welfare recipients. Along with this, as a new project, it will operate a 'Visiting Housing Welfare Counseling Office' to establish a housing welfare network within the local community.
The city will also carry out the 'Housing Upgrade Support Project for Vulnerable Groups,' enabling 60 households living in non-residential places such as goshiwon and jjokbang to relocate and settle in public rental housing. This project was selected by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and the city expects it to help stabilize housing for vulnerable households.
In addition, the city plans to implement support for newlyweds and multi-child families with interest subsidies on jeonse deposit loans, as well as the 'Housing Renovation Project for the Disabled' and the 'Repair and Maintenance Benefit Project' to improve the housing environment of vulnerable households.
A Yongin City official said, "We will establish and implement solid policies to improve the living environment of housing-vulnerable groups in the region and support the housing stability of citizens."
