Inha University Graduate School of Policy Studies Department of Media and Public Relations Celebrates 10th Anniversary with Launch of Alumni Association

The Department of Media and Public Relations at Inha University Graduate School of Policy celebrated its 10th anniversary by launching an alumni association.

On the 19th, the inauguration ceremony of the Media and Public Relations Department Alumni Association was held at the Sheraton Grand Incheon Hotel in Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, attended by Jo Myung-woo, President of Inha University; Byun Byung-seol, Dean of the Graduate School of Policy at Inha University; Shin Han-yong, the 31st President of the Inha University Alumni Association; professors Kim Sang-hoon and Ha Ju-yong of the Media and Public Relations Department; and alumni.

On the 19th, at the Sheraton Grand Incheon Hotel, Jo Myung-woo, President of Inha University, Byun Byung-seol, Dean of the Graduate School of Public Policy at Inha University, Shin Han-yong, the 31st President of the Inha University Alumni Association, Shim Seung-il, the inaugural President of the Graduate School Alumni Association, Professors Kim Sang-hoon and Ha Joo-yong of the Department of Media and Communication at Inha University, along with alumni, posed for a commemorative photo at the launch ceremony of the Inha University Graduate School of Public Policy Department of Media and Communication Alumni Association. 2024.1.19 [Photo by Department of Media and Communication Alumni Association]

The alumni association was launched to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Media and Public Relations Department at the Graduate School of Policy, aiming to foster unity among alumni in various fields and to build a community network. Shim Seung-il, CEO of Samjeong Gas, was elected as the first president of the alumni association.

President Shim said, "I am grateful to the professors and alumni who have given me boundless love and encouragement, allowing me to stand in this honorable position despite my many shortcomings." He added, "Though my strength is limited, I will devote all my capabilities during my term to the development of the Media and Public Relations Department Alumni Association." He continued, "Through communication and harmony, I will do my best to further develop these precious connections and elevate the status of the alumni association."

President Jo Myung-woo congratulated the founding of the Media and Public Relations Department Alumni Association, saying, "I celebrate the establishment of the alumni association that embodies the pride of Inha people." He added, "As president, I will take an active interest and affection and support the alumni association’s development."

Additionally, Dean Byun Byung-seol said, "I find it especially meaningful that the alumni association is being launched at the 10-year mark since the Media and Public Relations Department was established at the Graduate School of Policy." He expressed hope that "it will show progress for the school and the local community."
