Nowon District Mayor Oh Seung-rok Attends 'Madeul Sports Town Soccer Field Artificial Turf Replacement Completion Ceremony'

On the morning of the 21st at 10 a.m., Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, attended the 'Madeul Sports Town Soccer Field Artificial Turf Replacement Completion Ceremony' held at the Madeul Sports Town Soccer Field in Nowon-gu, Seoul.

To alleviate the inconvenience caused by the worn-out artificial turf and to enhance safety for users such as soccer clubs, construction began in October last year, and the completion ceremony was held on January 21 of this year.

The project, funded by the district budget, replaced the artificial turf on one soccer field measuring 8,436㎡, as well as the goalposts and corner kick flag facilities.

The event was attended by Mayor Oh Seung-rok, National Assembly members Ko Yong-jin, Woo Won-shik, and Kim Sung-hwan, Kim Jun-seong, Chairman of the Nowon-gu Council, city and district council members, and other officials. The ceremony proceeded in the order of opening, congratulatory speeches, commemorative photo session, kickoff and completion commemorative performance, and a safety prayer ritual.

Mayor Oh Seung-rok said, “I hope that residents will enjoy sports activities more safely at the newly renovated Madeul Sports Town Soccer Field with the replaced artificial turf,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to create a pleasant environment for community sports to promote residents’ leisure activities and health improvement.”
