BabyMonster's 'Battery Up' MV Surpasses 200 Million Views... Fastest Record in K-Pop History

The group 'Baby Monster' has set a new K-pop record with the music video for their debut song 'Batter Up'.

On the 21st, their agency YG Entertainment announced that Baby Monster's 'Batter Up' music video surpassed 200 million views on YouTube at around 11:23 PM on the 19th.


This achievement came approximately 53 days after its release at midnight on the 27th of last month, marking the fastest record among debut music videos by K-pop groups to reach the same number of views.


The 'Batter Up' music video garnered 22.59 million views within just one day of its release, breaking the previous record for the most views in 24 hours for a K-pop debut song music video, which was 50 million views over 4 days. It then continued to set records by reaching 100 million views in 18 days, the shortest period for a K-pop group debut music video. On the 5th, it also ranked first on the consecutive global YouTube daily music video chart.


Currently, Baby Monster's official channel has 4.19 million subscribers, with a cumulative view count exceeding 900 million.


The 'Batter Up' track is also steadily gaining popularity. Upon release, it topped the iTunes song charts in 21 countries, reaching number one on the worldwide chart. Within 8 days of release, it appeared on the US Billboard Global 200 chart at position 101 and the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart at position 49. On Spotify, the world's largest music platform, it surpassed 10 million streams faster than any other K-pop girl group debut song.


Baby Monster will release their second new song 'Stuck In The Middle' on February 1. They are also preparing to release their first mini-album in April.
