Jin District Mayor: "Hope it becomes a festival ground for youth worldwide"
Jin Gyo-hoon, Mayor of Gangseo-gu, Seoul, is delivering congratulatory remarks at the "Commemorative Event for the Successful Hosting of the Gangwon Winter Youth Olympic Games" held on the 19th at St. John's Hotel in Gangneung.
Jin Gyo-hoon, Mayor of Gangseo District, Seoul, attended the '2024 Gangwon Winter Youth Olympic Games Opening Ceremony' held on the 19th at the Gangneung Speed Skating Stadium.
Mayor Jin said, "I am very pleased to host the Gangwon Winter Youth Olympic Games six years after the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics," and added, "I hope this will be a festival where youth from around the world build friendship and harmony and engage in exchange."
This Winter Youth Olympic Games, held for the first time in Asia, will take place over 14 days from the opening day until the 1st of next month in Gangneung, as well as in Pyeongchang, Jeongseon, and Hoengseong.
More than 1,800 athletes from 79 countries around the world will participate and compete in good spirit.
