Jeon Seung-il, a member of the Gwangju Metropolitan City Seo-gu Council, held a meeting with young business operators of Yangdong Traditional Market on the 19th at the council.
Councilor Jeon stated, "Although support was provided for rent, interior design, consulting, and publicity expenses to companies participating in the youth and middle-aged startup support project, only a few stores are operating while most have closed, causing surrounding merchants to frown," adding, "The meeting was held to explore ways to revitalize the Chef Food Street."
Through this meeting, various opinions for sustainable development were discussed, including ▲establishing plans to revitalize the ‘Chef Food Street’ and River Market 276 within Yangdong Traditional Market ▲proposals for solidarity and cooperation among youth representatives ▲creating communication channels between youth representatives and Yangdong Market merchants.
Councilor Jeon said, "Small business owners are the root and foundation of the local economy," and added, "I will carefully listen to the vivid stories of the participating company representatives today and work with the council and Seo-gu Office to provide the necessary support."
