Handonghun says "No conflict with the Presidential Office" regarding 'Kim Gunhee luxury bag suspicion controversy'

"A Matter to Consider from the People's Perspective"

Han Dong-hoon, Emergency Response Committee Chairman of the People Power Party, denied reports of conflict with the Presidential Office regarding First Lady Kim Geon-hee's 'luxury bag receipt suspicion,' stating, "There is nothing that can be called a conflict."

On the 19th, after attending the 'Public Sector Artificial Intelligence (AI) Utilization Meeting' held in Jung-gu, Seoul, Chairman Han responded to reporters' questions about whether there was a conflict with the Presidential Office over the level of response to the First Lady Kim's luxury bag suspicion by saying, "It is an issue to be considered from the public's perspective."

He added, "My position on that issue was clear and definite, as I stated yesterday. I will not say anything further."

Chairman Han had previously told reporters, "That issue is basically a 'trap hidden camera,' and it was planned from the beginning," but also said, "There were certainly regrettable points in the process, and there were parts that the public could be concerned about."

Regarding calls within the party for First Lady Kim to directly explain and apologize for the issue, Chairman Han replied, "The People Power Party is a party with various opinions and allows diverse views."

When asked about Floor Leader Yoon Jae-ok's request for lawmakers to keep in mind that the essence of this matter is a 'political plot' when responding to the media, he said, "That is also one of the various voices," adding, "It is a party where various opinions can be freely expressed and where the party's stance is gathered."
