The new public health center will be built with a project cost of 30 billion KRW on a site area of approximately 17,000㎡ and a total floor area of about 7,000㎡, consisting of one basement floor and three above-ground floors.

The site for the relocation and reconstruction is next to the Korea Bamboo Museum. As the demand for public health care among local residents increases, Damyang-gun aims to resolve the issues of the existing health center and establish a living foundation to improve the quality of health care services.

Additionally, the new facility is planned as a new space where residents can comfortably visit, linked with Cheonnyeon Square located between the Korea Bamboo Museum and the Agricultural Technology Center, beyond just health services.

Furthermore, the county is considering various measures to minimize residents' inconvenience related to transportation conditions for the new health center, such as operating shuttle buses for vulnerable groups who find it difficult to walk from bus stops and designating additional nearby bus stops.

Lee Byeong-no, the mayor of Damyang-gun, said, “We will devote ourselves to the project so that the newly built health center can establish itself as a guardian of residents' health through high-quality medical services,” and added, “We will carry out administrative procedures such as architectural review without delay to ensure construction can begin in early 2025.”
