A drunk driver who sprayed bottled water on a group of YouTubers broadcasting live while following a DUI crackdown scene was caught by the police.
The Gwangju Gwangsan Police Station announced on the 19th that they are investigating A (mid-40s) on charges including assault.
A was caught in the act around 5 a.m. that day on a roadside in the Cheomdan district of Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, after spraying water on B (mid-20s), a member of the YouTuber group.
A showed this behavior after getting angry at the group broadcasting a YouTube video while undergoing a police checkpoint following a report of suspected drunk driving.
A is also facing charges for refusing a breathalyzer test under the Road Traffic Act.
The police are also analyzing whether the YouTuber, who broadcasted the illegal acts of ordinary citizens and police enforcement scenes without filtering and earned private profits, has any criminal charges.
This YouTuber gained tens of thousands of subscribers by lurking in entertainment districts in the Gwangju area, reporting suspected drunk driving vehicles to 112, and broadcasting the police enforcement process live.
