QRT is showing strong performance day after day. As reliability evaluation becomes increasingly important for semiconductor performance due to defect rates occurring in the CoWoS process, which is the bottleneck for GPUs and HBM, securities firms' analyses suggest that QRT, the only domestic semiconductor reliability company and a developer of testing equipment and solutions, will directly benefit, influencing its stock price.
As of 9:11 AM on the 19th, QRT was trading at 26,600 KRW, up 3,950 KRW (17.44%) compared to the previous trading day.
Minjung Kwak, a researcher at Hyundai Motor Securities, analyzed, "According to foreign media reports, TSMC plans to more than double its CoWoS packaging capacity by the end of this year," adding, "This means that demand for advanced packaging for AI and data centers from companies such as Nvidia, Apple, AMD, Broadcom, and Marvell is continuously increasing."
She continued, "If Taiwan has MA-Tek, Korea has QRT, which offers solutions to improve performance and yield through analysis of semiconductor devices as well as materials and components."
She explained, "QRT is especially excellent at troubleshooting, so much so that it is called the Chip Doctor, securing high technical capabilities. Reliability testing involves testing new semiconductor chips under extreme conditions such as high/ultra-low temperatures and mechanical shocks to assess their lifespan."
Researcher Kwak stated, "Currently, major GPU AI chip manufacturers are demanding customized HBM," and added, "Since AI chips are expensive, reliability testing is becoming very important in the final mass production process."
She emphasized, "There is a growing need for semiconductor recycling in premium semiconductor product groups such as HBM and GPUs," and "Solutions based on QRT's reliability and analytical capabilities are highly likely to be applied."
Furthermore, she expressed expectations, saying, "With the growth of the automotive semiconductor market, semiconductor recycling applied in premium semiconductor product groups such as HBM and GPUs, and collaboration on AI semiconductor performance testing with Rebellion, one of Korea's representative NPU companies, QRT's growth potential is limitless."
