Gwangjin-gu Operates Children's Health Counseling Center

Winter Break Program for Elementary Students Living in Gwangjin-gu Until the End of February... Nutrition Counseling on Eating Habits and Exercise Counseling Based on Body Composition Analysis, Conducted Individually 1:1

Gwangjin-gu Operates Children's Health Counseling Center

Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) is operating a ‘Health Consultation Center’ that provides customized nutrition and exercise counseling for growing children during the winter vacation.

Even children who usually maintain a regular lifestyle can experience disrupted routines during the winter vacation, which may lead to irregular habits, lack of exercise, and nutritional imbalance, potentially harming their health.

Accordingly, the district is running the ‘Health Consultation Center’ for the first time this year to help children improve their lifestyle habits and spend their vacation healthily.

The program is open to elementary school students residing in Gwangjin-gu, and the operation period lasts until the end of February.

The ‘Health Consultation Center’ consists of nutrition counseling based on dietary habits and professional exercise counseling based on body composition analysis results, conducted individually on a one-on-one basis.

The program includes ▲comparing calories and sugar content of different snacks ▲sweetness preference testing followed by counseling on the results ▲exercises to increase muscle mass ▲correct posture and stretching in daily life ▲providing educational materials for practicing exercise habits and small tools (resistance bands).

A parent who participated in the program said, “As both parents work, I was very concerned about how to care for my children during the vacation. It is reassuring to be able to use systematic professional counseling for free.”

The ‘Health Consultation Center’ operates only on weekdays, and reservations are accepted at Junggok Health Center.

Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “This is an essential program for growing children,” and added, “We hope many interested parents participate to help improve their children’s nutritional habits and receive exercise counseling.”
