'Kim Ha-seong Gonggal' Im Hye-dong Extorts 300 Million Won from Ryu Hyun-jin... Arrest Warrant Requested

Former baseball player Lim Hye-dong, who is engaged in a dispute over assault and extortion threats during a drinking party with Major Leaguer Kim Ha-sung, now faces the possibility of arrest on charges of extorting a large sum of money from player Ryu Hyun-jin as well.

According to the police on the 18th, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul applied for an arrest warrant for Lim on charges of extortion on the same day.

Lim is accused of demanding hundreds of millions of won by exploiting conflicts between him and Ryu while working as Ryu’s road manager in 2021. It is reported that Ryu handed over about 300 million won to Lim.

Earlier, in February 2021, Kim filed a complaint stating that he got into a physical fight with Lim while drinking at a bar in Gangnam, Seoul, and was continuously pressured by Lim to pay a settlement.

Lim claimed that he was habitually assaulted by Kim. Kim’s side denies the unilateral and habitual assault and has additionally filed a complaint against Lim for defamation under the Information and Communications Network Act.
