Hanwha Vision "Accelerating AI Implementation Providing Data Insights"

Global vision solution provider Hanwha Vision forecasted that the implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) capable of providing data insights for analyzing trends and predicting future incidents and accidents in video security systems will accelerate.

On the 18th, Hanwha Vision stated, "Video security systems no longer merely record footage but have become essential tools for enhancing security, improving operations, and increasing productivity."

Hanwha Vision also identified this year’s major trends in the video security industry as ▲ security solutions evolving into 'business game changers' incorporating AI ▲ faster cloud transitions ▲ 'Edge AI cameras' that integrate video capturing, storage, and analysis functions ▲ and sustainable development.

Hanwha Vision plans to officially launch its AI solution 'SiteMind' starting with the North American market this year.

No Seung-in, head of Hanwha Vision’s AI Research Center, said, "We are not only utilizing AI technology that accurately detects and distinguishes objects captured by security cameras but also obtaining business-critical insights through video data and AI-based analytics, as well as assessing the likelihood of specific events occurring. Data and AI-based predictive analytics provide broad and immediate visibility into numerous potential outcomes and impacts related to various threats and business strategies."

Furthermore, Hanwha Vision anticipated that the video security industry will actively pursue cloud-centric digital transformation, accelerated by the pandemic.

The 'Edge AI camera,' which integrates video capturing, storage, analysis, and cloud connectivity technologies, was also presented as a trend in the video security industry this year. Installing this camera eliminates the need to build separate systems or infrastructure such as servers.

Efforts toward sustainable development, including enhancing security functions and developing eco-friendly technologies, are expected to continue in the video security industry.

Lee Sang-won, head of Hanwha Vision’s Development Center, said, "As the burden on companies increases due to rising energy consumption, technologies that reduce the energy used in camera operation and data analysis and positively impact the environment and operations are being developed."
