President Yoon Suk-yeol appointed Shim Woo-jung, Deputy Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme Prosecutors' Office (age 53, Judicial Research and Training Institute class 26), as the new Deputy Minister of Justice on the 18th.
The presidential office announced that President Yoon approved the appointment of Deputy Minister Shim in the afternoon as the successor to former Deputy Minister of Justice Ino Gong.
The presidential office evaluated Deputy Minister Shim, stating, "Based on his extensive experience in legal administration accumulated through his roles as Director of the Prosecutor's Office at the Ministry of Justice, Director of Planning and Coordination, and Deputy Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme Prosecutors' Office, he is expected to smoothly carry out the duties of Deputy Minister of Justice."
