He particularly emphasized, "We will establish a semiconductor ecosystem through the expansion of attracting Samsung Electronics, KAIST, and materials, parts, and equipment (SoBuJang), thereby creating a smooth foundation for semiconductor industry growth."
He also revealed his commitment to nurturing the future automobile industry. To this end, the city is currently formulating a basic plan for future automobile development and intends to expand key policies such as creating infrastructure-specialized complexes and operating a future car working group.
During the conference, Mayor Jung stressed that the city administration will also focus its efforts on improving residential conditions. He explained, "Until now, Pyeongtaek has been a city focused on growth. Now, we will do our best to create a livable city centered on the lives of our citizens."
Mayor Jung emphasized that efforts to create a livable city are the essence of administrative innovation. He said, "Despite the overall population decline, Pyeongtaek is a city where the population continues to increase steadily. We will do our utmost to expand jobs and make it a city where young people want to live."
Meanwhile, Pyeongtaek City has set this year's administrative agenda as ▲ revitalizing the local economy ▲ warm welfare city ▲ sustainable future advanced city ▲ eco-friendly premium city ▲ competitive international city, and plans to create a "future advanced green city where citizens are happy."
Mayor Jung said, "I hope this year will be one of progress toward achieving everyone's goals and dreams, like the 'Blue Dragon' in imagination that does not yield even in difficult situations," and added, "Pyeongtaek City will do its best again this year so that citizens do not lose hope, rise again, and achieve their dreams and goals."
