'Incheon’s Largest' Mansu Jugong Integrated Reconstruction Accelerates… Namdong-gu "Active Support"

District Mayor Park Jong-hyo Holds Meeting with Resident Representatives of Reconstruction Promotion Committee on the 18th

The integrated reconstruction project of Mansu Jugong Apartments Complexes 1 to 6, the largest-scale reconstruction project in Incheon, is expected to gain momentum.

On the morning of the 18th, Namdong-gu, Incheon, held a residents' meeting at the management office of Mansu Jugong Complex 4 to promote the integrated reconstruction of Mansu Jugong. The meeting was attended by resident representatives from the reconstruction promotion preparation committee, Park Jong-hyo, head of Namdong-gu Office, and Lee In-gyo, a member of the Incheon City Council.

Mansu Jugong Apartments, combining complexes 1 to 6, consist of 6,866 households and are aging apartments with a maximum of 37 years since completion. After passing the preliminary safety inspection early last year, a detailed safety inspection service began in October of the same year and is expected to be completed by early February this year.

At the meeting, resident representatives requested the district office to facilitate smooth resident proposals during the next step, the establishment of the maintenance plan, following the safety inspection. According to the amendment of the Urban and Residential Environment Maintenance Act last year, from the 19th, residents will be able to request the designation of maintenance zones to local governments through the maintenance plan initiation request system.

District head Park conveyed his intention to actively support prompt progress through consultations with related organizations such as Incheon City upon residents' requests. Park said, "The successful integrated reconstruction of Mansu Jugong Apartments will greatly influence whether other apartments completed around the same time in the region proceed with reconstruction," adding, "We will actively support the smooth progress of the project."

Meanwhile, following the recent government policy allowing reconstruction of apartments over 30 years old without safety inspections, the Mansu Jugong integrated reconstruction project is expected to accelerate regardless of the detailed safety inspection results.
