Jeju Air Passenger Plane Scheduled to Arrive at Fukuoka Airport in Japan Makes Wrong Entry
No Injuries to Crew or Passengers... "It Was Okay Because We Reassured the Passengers"

A Jeju Air passenger plane scheduled to arrive at Fukuoka Airport in Japan was towed after entering a taxiway different from the one instructed by the air traffic controller.

On the 17th, Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism announced that around 7:40 a.m., a Jeju Air passenger plane departing from Busan and scheduled to land at Fukuoka Airport mistakenly entered a taxiway different from the controller's instructions and was towed. Eventually, the Jeju Air plane stopped and was towed to the boarding gate, and no crew members or passengers were reported injured.

The airport authorities analyzed that since the pilot and the controller appeared to be communicating normally, the main cause of the wrong entry was the aircraft's misjudgment of the route.

Passenger A, who was on board the flight, posted on their social networking service (SNS), "We arrived at Fukuoka at the time, but the plane started to be towed due to wrong entry at the airport," adding, "The crew kept reassuring the passengers, so it was okay. There was not much delay."

Earlier, on the 10th, a passenger plane departing from Thailand and scheduled to arrive at Fukuoka also entered a taxiway different from the controller's instructions and was towed, similar to the Jeju Air case. In response, Fukuoka Airport announced that it would increase related signage and make efforts to prevent recurrence.
