Professor Ahn Tae-hoon of Chosun University Hospital Appointed as Chair of the Council at the Korean Society of Anesthesiology

Professor An Tae-hoon of the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at Chosun University Hospital has been appointed as the 'Chairman of the Council' of the Korean Society of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine.

Anesthesiology and pain medicine involves the entire process before, during, and after surgery to ensure a successful operation and continuously maintain the patient's vital signs in a stable condition. It is a field that controls the pain caused by surgery experienced by surgical patients and treats various acute and chronic pain patients through outpatient procedures and interventions.

The Korean Society of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine is an organization that maintains continuous education for its members to provide the best medical services in the fields of anesthesia and pain, and actively engages in academic and research activities to ensure advanced medical services related to anesthesiology and pain medicine.

Professor An will lead the council, which deliberates and approves various operational matters of the society, as the Chairman of the Council for the next two years.

Professor An said, "I feel an immense sense of responsibility in taking on the important role of Chairman of the Council," and added, "I will do my best in various academic and research activities for the development of the society and medical advancement."

The term of office is two years, from January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2025.

Meanwhile, Professor An has been actively involved in various roles, including President of the Korean Society of Pediatric Anesthesiology, President of the Korean Society of Neuromuscular Research, President of the Korean Society of Respiratory Care, Legal Director of the Korean Society of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine, and Financial Auditor of the Korean Society of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine.
