Hanwha Vision Unveils 'AI Video Security' Technology at Middle East's Largest Security Exhibition

Participation in 'INTERSEC 2024' from the 16th to 18th

Hanwha Vision, a Hanwha Group affiliate specializing in surveillance equipment manufacturing and sales (formerly Hanwha Techwin), announced on the 17th that it showcased its expanded portfolio for the first time in the Middle East following its name change in March last year.

Hanwha Vision participated in 'Intersec 2024,' the largest security exhibition in the Middle East, held from the 16th to 18th (local time) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

At this exhibition, Hanwha Vision unveiled various intelligence solutions under the main theme of "Beyond Security. Beyond Expectations. Experience Hanwha Vision."

The booth (SA-E25) was designed to allow visitors to directly experience the potential expansion of security solutions through the combination of video security technology and artificial intelligence (AI). It featured ▲ AI PTZ (Pan·Tilt·Zoom) and multi-sensor camera lineup zone ▲ Retail & MEA zone composed of AI-based retail and Middle East-specific solutions ▲ Traffic & Safety zone consisting of AI-based Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) and factory solutions ▲ AI Box supporting AI algorithms for non-AI cameras and Flex AI, which enables users to self-train desired objects.

Visitors paid particular attention to the AI PTZ camera’s "Quick Zoom and Focus" feature. Quick Zoom and Focus allows operators to swiftly switch the field of view to the desired monitoring area. The AI-based PTZ camera uses deep learning algorithms to detect and classify people, faces, vehicles, and license plates in real time, maximizing accurate video analysis and search efficiency.

The newly introduced 4-channel AI mini multi-directional camera is characterized by its compact design and provides wide-area monitoring that minimizes blind spots in various environments such as banks, retail stores, schools, and hospitals. Enhanced with AI technology, it received positive evaluations for maximizing camera operation efficiency by reducing false alarms through more accurate real-time object detection and classification.

Additionally, Hanwha Vision showcased smart city solutions such as waste detection and intelligent traffic management tailored to the characteristics and regulations of the Middle East region, as well as various vertical solutions that combine video security technology and AI to provide business-critical insights.

A Hanwha Vision representative stated, "The Middle East market is experiencing increasing demand for video security solutions for commercial and residential environments due to rapid economic revitalization and regional development. We plan to enhance our global market competitiveness by expanding Hanwha Vision’s portfolio of vision solutions that go beyond video security to provide practical insights."

This year’s Intersec featured over 1,000 global security companies from more than 55 countries, showcasing a variety of innovative technologies. As the first global security exhibition held annually, it offers a preview of the latest trends in international security exhibitions that continue in countries such as Korea, the United States, and the United Kingdom.
