Creating a Space for Entrepreneurial Exchange and Cooperation... Joint Promotion of the 'Industrial Complex Open Innovation Support Center Construction Project' with Korea Industrial Complex Corporation... Maximizing Utilization through Expansion of Corporate Event Space and Installation of Large LED Screens
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it has remodeled the ‘G Valley Corporate Citizen Hall’ into an industrial exchange innovation space in cooperation with the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation.
The ‘G Valley Corporate Citizen Hall’ opened in December 2013 and has been operating educational and cultural programs for entrepreneurs and workers, as well as providing meeting and training spaces.
As G Valley has become the largest cradle of youth startups in Seoul, the need for a system to support startups has been continuously raised.
To address this, the district signed a business agreement with the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation in October 2023 for the ‘Industrial Complex Open Innovation Support Center Construction Project’ and remodeled the G Valley Corporate Citizen Hall. ‘Open Innovation’ is an open innovation method that enhances the efficiency and success potential of technology development by sharing and utilizing external technologies or knowledge during research, development, and commercialization processes.
The remodeling focused on providing a core space for mutual exchange and cooperation among companies residing in G Valley. The Changjo Hall was the most in-demand space supporting corporate events such as meetings and training. The space of Changjo Hall was significantly expanded and improved into a large-scale conference hall capable of hosting seminars and banquets.
Three large LED screens were installed on the front, rear, and wall pillars of Changjo Hall. By displaying photos, videos, and presentations on the screens, the utilization of the industrial exchange and corporate promotion space was enhanced. When not reserved, Changjo Hall will be open at all times to provide a free resting space for entrepreneurs and workers.
Additionally, the ‘G Valley Corporate Citizen Hall’ will be used as an exchange space for early-stage startups residing in the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation’s ‘Open Innovation Support Center.’
Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, “This remodeling has become an opportunity for innovative and passionate companies to gather and grow together,” and added, “We will do our best to create a G Valley that grows even more by fostering an environment where industry and culture are harmonized.”
