Guro-gu to Award 30,000 KRW to Reporters of At-Risk Households Starting This Year

Guro-gu will implement the ‘Reward Program for Reporting Vulnerable Households’ starting this year.

The ‘Reward Program for Reporting Vulnerable Households’ is a system that provides a reward to individuals who report vulnerable households in welfare blind spots and have them selected as support recipients.

If there are vulnerable households around you, such as △households struggling to make a living due to loss of income from unemployment or business closure △households needing assistance due to health issues like illness or disability △or other households in crisis situations requiring help due to economic difficulties, anyone can visit or call the local community service center to report. Reporting is also possible via Guro-gu’s Vulnerable Household Report Talk (KakaoTalk channel).

After investigating the reported household’s income and assets, a reward of 30,000 KRW will be given to the reporter only if the household is selected as a welfare recipient (beneficiary, near-poverty, single-parent family, Seoul-type basic security). There is an annual limit of 300,000 KRW per reporter. The vulnerable household members themselves, their relatives, mandatory reporters under Article 13, Paragraph 2 of the Act on the Use and Provision of Social Security Benefits and the Discovery of Beneficiaries, and public officials are excluded from receiving the reward.

Guro-gu plans to provide continuous monitoring and aftercare for the identified vulnerable households using AI check-in services, smart plugs, and local care groups, while encouraging reporters to participate in the welfare community by appointing them as honorary social welfare officers.

A Guro-gu official stated, “A small interest in neighbors can provide great help,” and added, “We hope for active reports from residents.”
