First Round of Applications Accepted Through Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education Website
The Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education announced on the 16th that it has finalized the eligibility criteria for applying for the 'Jeonnam Student Education Allowance,' which is provided to students attending elementary schools in the Jeonnam region starting this March, and will accept the first round of applications from the 22nd of this month until the 2nd of next month.
The first application period targets elementary schools located in Mokpo, Yeosu, Suncheon, and Gwangyang cities that have a school calendar with attendance starting in February.

In Mokpo, the following schools are included: Mokpo Sanjeong Elementary, Mokpo Yudal Elementary, Mokpo Dong Elementary, Mokpo Imseong Elementary, Mokpo Yeongsan Elementary, Mokpo Buju Elementary, and Mokpo Baekryun Elementary. In Yeosu, the eligible schools are Yeosu Dong Elementary, Yeosu Nam Elementary, Yeosu Hallyeo Elementary, Yulchon Elementary, and Seongsan Elementary.
In Suncheon, Suncheon Dosa Elementary and Shindae Elementary are included, while in Gwangyang, Okryong Elementary, Okgok Elementary, Seonghwang Elementary, Gwangyang Yonggang Elementary, and Gwangyang Chilseong Elementary are eligible to apply during this period.
When a guardian applies, the school verifies the relationship between the student and guardian as well as the student's information, and the Provincial Office of Education finalizes the list of eligible recipients and disburses the allowance.
Applications can be made by clicking on the ‘Jeonnam Student Education Allowance Application’ link on the Jeollanam-do Office of Education website.
In March, applications will be accepted for all elementary students, including new entrants.
Payments will be made monthly starting in March via voucher card points. Voucher cards can be issued starting from the 26th of next month either online (through the NongHyup URL) or by visiting a NongHyup branch.
The Provincial Office of Education operates a call center related to the Jeonnam Student Education Allowance application process.
The Jeonnam Student Education Allowance provides 100,000 KRW per month per student to elementary students attending schools in 16 counties of Jeonnam (excluding Muan County) from March this year through February next year, and 50,000 KRW per month per student to those attending schools in the five city areas and Muan County.
