The Dad Parental Leave Incentive provides male workers on parental leave with 500,000 KRW per month, up to a maximum of 1.5 million KRW over three months.

The support targets those eligible for parental leave benefits under the Employment Insurance Act, who have continuously registered their residence in Haenam-gun for at least one year as of the application date, and whose children are also registered residents.

Applications can be made by visiting the Health Center's Happy Birth One-Stop Support Center with a parental leave confirmation issued by the employer and a parental leave benefit payment decision notice issued by the Employment Center.

For further details, inquiries can be directed to the Population Policy Division's Birth Promotion Team.

Haenam-gun is currently negotiating with the Ministry of Health and Welfare to extend the support period to 12 months and plans to actively expand support for male parental leave. So far, 16 individuals have benefited from Haenam-gun's Dad Parental Leave Incentive Support Project.

A county official stated, “The Dad Parental Leave Incentive Support Project is receiving great response as an excellent policy initiative that contributes to overcoming low birth rates by promoting work-family balance and creating a family-friendly social environment.”
