Analyzing customer consumption data, Homeplus found that December sales of Bungeoppang (37%) and Hotteok (54%) significantly increased compared to the same month last year. By age group, purchases of Bungeoppang by customers in their 20s rose by 95% year-on-year. The 50s and 60s age groups, enjoying so-called 'Bungse-gwon (Bungeoppang + station area)' through online orders, also saw substantial growth, with increases of 133% and 177%, respectively.

With the golden holiday and winter vacation coinciding, demand for home baking surged. Items such as Hotteok mix (241%), bread mix (269%), fresh cream/whipping cream (130%), and toppings (118%) saw significant increases, while sales of cocoa and whole ice cream, which are good snacks and accompaniments, rose by 646% and 81%, respectively.

Homeplus attributed this trend to the ongoing high inflation, which has increased grocery costs, leading to a shift in consumer patterns toward resolving not only meals but also snacks and desserts at home. Jo Hye-young, Director of Homeplus Online Marketing Headquarters, said, "As rising raw material prices have caused many 'street vendors' to disappear, Homeplus Online has stepped in to fill that gap, greatly enhancing consumer convenience." She added, "Based on Homeplus Online's high accessibility, we plan to expand a variety of food offerings."
