9 Years of Franchise Success
The Only Single Brand Korean Food Franchise
Accelerating Expansion in Special Commercial Areas This Year
Bonjuk & Bibimbap announced on the 15th that it has opened its 1,000th franchise store. This is the only case for a single Korean food franchise brand, achieved nine years after Bonjuk & Bibimbap started its franchise business in 2015.
Bonjuk & Bibimbap also announced on the 15th that it held an opening ceremony for its 1,000th store, the ‘Incheon Seokbawi Branch,’ on the 11th. Through this, Bonjuk & Bibimbap now has 1,000 franchise stores, with Bonjuk alone having 651 stores. It is analyzed that the number of new store openings is increasing along with a growing number of existing Bonjuk stores converting to Bonjuk & Bibimbap. The cases of converting from Bonjuk to Bonjuk & Bibimbap steadily increased every year, from 57 in 2019 to 64 in 2020, 108 in 2021, and 134 in 2022.
The headquarters is diversifying the bibimbap menu to respond to various customer demands and to compensate for the seasonal off-peak factors of franchise stores. They are also focusing on improving efficiency in franchise store operation and management. They have sequentially introduced advanced smart device porridge makers, kiosks and order call systems (DID), induction cookers (for newly opened stores), and ultrasonic cleaners.
A representative from BonIF said, “We are continuously considering ways to improve operational convenience, such as supplying highly prepared ingredients that require less hands-on work at franchise sites,” and added, “This year, we plan to expand into special commercial areas such as airports, shopping malls, large hospitals, and food courts.”
Meanwhile, to commemorate the opening of the 1,000th store, Bonjuk & Bibimbap donated 180 bowls of porridge and bibimbap, along with 400 home meal replacements (HMR), to the Juan 6-dong Administrative Welfare Center together with the Incheon Seokbawi Branch.
