The first "Date with Citizens" of the new year of Gapjin was organized as an opportunity to invite local elders who have led regional development in various fields such as education, culture and arts, and medical care, to hear their advice on local issues.
The attending elders expressed various opinions for regional development, including measures to revitalize the local economy and plans for the development of Jinju's cultural industry.
Mayor Jo said, "I am grateful for your affectionate interest and love for the city administration that you have shown for regional development," and urged, "Please share your wisdom and experience to solve local issues this year as well."
He added, "The achievements such as the selection of Munsan Public Housing District, the successful hosting of the Asian Weightlifting Championships, and the selection as a Korean Cultural City Contest winner are all thanks to each citizen doing their best in their respective places," and said, "We will actively review and reflect on the suggestions made and continue to do our best to build a prosperous Jinju where citizens are happy."
