Invited to the 'Davos Forum,' Kim Dong-yeon Draws Attention Wearing Itaewon Tragedy Memorial Badge Text and photo posted by Kim Dong-yeon, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, on his SNS

Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon departed on the 13th to attend the World Economic Forum (WEF, Davos Forum) held in Switzerland.

On the same day, Governor Kim posted on his social media service (SNS), "I have been invited to the World Economic Forum and am heading to Davos, Switzerland."

As he left the country, Governor Kim wore a memorial badge for the victims of the Itaewon tragedy. Although the special law on the Itaewon tragedy has passed the National Assembly, it has not yet been approved by the Cabinet meeting.

A Gyeonggi Province official stated, "Governor Kim wore the memorial badge to pray for the passage of the Itaewon special law while departing for the Davos Forum in Switzerland. Gyeonggi Province has a deeper interest in the Itaewon tragedy than any other local government nationwide."

Meanwhile, Governor Kim is scheduled to attend the World Economic Forum to strengthen practical cooperation with heads of state from various countries, discuss attracting global companies and investments, and carry out a busy schedule.

Known as the Davos Forum, the World Economic Forum is the largest brainstorming meeting where prominent global businesspeople, economists, and politicians gather to discuss economic issues and seek international action plans.

It is especially prestigious and influential, often called the "World Economic Olympics," and only invited guests may attend. This year's event is the largest ever, with over 3,000 participants including 60 heads of state and 370 ministers. Governor Kim Dong-yeon is the only domestic local government head invited to this forum.
